What to Cook This Christmas

It’s only 5 days to go before Christmas – do you already know what to cook this upcoming holiday?

Well, if not, here’s a suggested holiday menu:

There’s nothing like cheese to whet one’s appetite so for starters, you can bake camembert cheese with sun-dried tomatoes then serve with baguette slices. Another option is feta cheese and spinach tartlets.

For soup, try sprinkling sweet potato soup with cinnamon then top with maple croutons.

Now for the much-awaited mains. For Christmas lunch, nothing says tradition like the classic roast beef and gravy paired with an interesting combination of pimento cheese potato gratin. If you’re hosting dinner – what’s Christmas without ham, right? Do glaze it for additional cheer. Pair it with something light like mushroom or vegetable lasagna.

For salad or sides, you can opt for an almond-cranberry-spinach salad. Or you might want to roast some Brussels sprouts instead then top it off with sautéed garlic and chopped pecans then drizzle with olive oil. Another option is steamed broccoli topped with sautéed garlic and toasted hazel nuts then drizzled with lemon juice.

And of course, there’s always room for dessert. Delight your guests with either gingerbread cheesecake or chocolate-peppermint layer cake or both!

Now that we have your Christmas menu down pat, the next decision is the dinnerware.

For a feast as regal as this, we recommend the Royal Crown Derby Kedleston collection. With several pieces to choose from, you’re bound to find one for each dish that you will serve. Plus, its gold trim is a perfect accent to your holiday spread!
