Now, do you want to know how you can make your wine taste even better? Well, the secret is in decanting.
You’re probably wondering what decanting is and why it is necessary.
Well, decanting simply means transferring liquid from one container to another. In our case, we pour out the red wine from its original bottle to a wine decanter. Why is this necessary, you ask? In this way, you separate the wine from the sediment; and what you get is wine in its purest form. Wine sediment is composed mostly of grape skins and potassium bitartrate, also known as cream of tartar, which is a byproduct of the fermentation process that wine goes through.
Decanting also allows for the elimination of any unpleasant odor, making the wine more palatable.
This step is usually forgotten but it is really the one thing that will greatly improve the flavor of your wine, whether you buy an affordable wine or an expensive fine one.
